Using the Logo

Here you'll find general guidelines and instructions for using the logo, as well as specific rules for using the logo on the Web.

The official UT Arlington logo is a blue capital A outlined in orange with a beveled blue and white star outlined in orange in the center of the A. This is the only logo approved for use by colleges, schools, departments, offices, centers, programs and other official units of UT Arlington for collateral, apparel and merchandise.

As a registered trademark, the logo must follow certain rules:

  • The logo may not be altered or embellished.
  • Do not use the logo as part of another mark, title, or graphic.
  • Do not use the logo as a word or part of a word.
  • The ™ (TM Trademark) designation must be used with the logo.
  • The mascot image may not be used in place or instead of the institutional or spirit logo in any University advertising.

Using the logo on the Web

The logo may be presented with the following color variations:

blue and orange blue black
white and orange
white

blue & orange

blue

black

white & orange *

white *


* There are some graphic considerations that make using the white or white and orange logo on Web pages problematic. If your design needs this logo, please consult with University Publications Web Group to prepare the graphic specifically for your purpose.

Give the logo some space.

Three sizes of the“A" logo are approved for Web pages:

A30: 43px wide, 30px high A40: 57px wide, 40px high A60: 86px wide, 60px high Give the logo some space.

A30: 43px wide, 30px high

A40: 57px wide, 40px high

A60: 86px wide, 60px high

No matter which size you use, give it some space: leave one-third to one-half of the height on all sides of the logo.


Logo No-Nos!

Use the logo only in its entirety. This Modified Logo is Unacceptable. This Modified Logo is Unacceptable. Obscured Logo -- Old Logo: Both Unacceptable Unacceptable use of logo as part of another logo or word.

Use the logo only in its entirety and without modification.

Use the logo at one of the approved sizes; no stretching, re-sizing or cropping

No 3-D or other effects without approval from University Communications

Do not obscure any part of the logo by placing type, photographs or other elements on top of it.
Do not use an outdated logo.

Do not use the logo as a letter in any word or as a letter in any other logo.
