What is the UT Arlington College panhellenic?

The College Panhellenic (CPH) at UT Arlington is the coordinating body of the National Panhellenic Conference sororities chapters represented at UT Arlington. The council is comprised of an Executive Board of officers along with  delegates from each member group. CPH provides support and services to the almost 300 Panhellenic sorority members as well as representing sorority life to the University and the surrounding community.

HOW TO JOIN fall 2015- Formal Recruitment 

CPH will be hosting Formal Recruitment in the fall of 2015 semester from September 3-7, 2015 The formal recruitment period is designed in a way that allows each potential member the opportunity to become acquainted with as many sororities as possible so that she may make a wise and unbiased decision concerning membership. Furthermore, formal recruitment allows sororities to recruit potential members on an equal opportunity basis under Panhellenic guidelines. Participating in Formal Recruitment is a wonderful way to meet new people at UT Arlington. Even if you decide not to join a sorority, you will gain fabulous memories and many new friends.

CPH Open House is open to any woman who is interested in learning more about CPH sororities, women will get the opportunity to visit with each of the three sororities to learn more about the time, financial, and scholarship commitments of CPH sorority life. Women do not have to be signed up for recruitment to attend Open House. Women who are signed up are strongly encouraged to attend CPH Open House. 

FALL 2015 FORMAL RECRUITMENT SCHEDULE

All Events are mandatory for Potential New Members to attend. 

Thursday, September 3, 2015 – Parent/Family Informational 

  • 6:00, Parent Orientation in Guadaloupe in the Univeristy Center (not required for parents and families to attend)

Thursday, September 3, 2015 – Recruitment Orientation

  • Required for any woman going through Recruitment.
  • Check-in begins at 6:30 and the program begins at 7:00pm
  • Rio Grande in the University Center
  • Potential New Members should wear casual clothing, whatever she is most comfortable in.

Friday, September 4, 2015 – Round 1 Values and Sisterhood

  • Potential New Members will check-in at 3:00
  • Check-in will be in the Palo Duro of the University Center
  • Potential New Members will spend 45 minutes with each chapter meeting members of the chapter and hearing more about the values and sisterhood of the organization.
  • Potential New Members can expect to not leave before 9:30 pm
  • Potential New Members will wear the CPH t-shirt provided and whatever bottoms she is most comfortable in. Shoes should be sandals or something similar that is comfortable for walking.

What to Wear-

Day One

Saturday, September 5, 2015 – Round 2 Philanthropy

  • Potential New Members will check-in at 1:00
  • Check-in will be in the Palo Duro of the University Center
  • Potential New Members will spend 45 minutes with chapters meeting members of the chapter and hearing more about non-profit organizations that the chapters support locally and nationally.
  • Potential New Members can expect to not leave before 9:00 pm
  • Potential New Members will wear casual dress, pants, or something similar with sandals or heels but something comfortable for walking.

What to Wear-

Day Two

Sunday, September 6, 2015 – Round 3 Preference

  • Potential New Members will check-in at 11:30 am
  • Check-in will be in the Palo Duro of the University Center
  • Potential New Members will spend 60 minutes with chapters, this party is a little more serious and will often involve one on one conversations and ceremonies centered around the life-long bonds of the chapter.
  • Potential New Members can expect to not leave before 8:00 pm
  • Potential New Members will wear a dress, pants, or something she would wear to on a holiday or celebration with sandals or heels that are comfortable for walking.

What to Wear-

Day 3

 Monday, September 7, 2015 – Bid Day (UTA is closed, there are no classes this day!)

  • Check-in at the Rosebud Theatre in the University Center at 10:00 am.
  • Women will receive their bids to invite them to join one of our three CPH sororities.
  • The CPH Bridge Ceremony will take place at 11:00 at the Fine Arts Bridge, parents and families are invited to attend.
  • Potential New Members will wear shorts or jeans, whatever she is comfortable in, she will receive a Bid Day shirt from the chapter she receives a bid from. Shoes should be sandals or something similar.

Sunday, September 13, 2015 – New Member Convocation

  • 4:00 in the Rosebud of the University Center
  • This is a program for the newest members of CPH and attendance is required.

Times are subject to change, a final schedule will be released by August 21, 2015.
