The Fraternity and Sorority community at UT Arlington is usually at about 800 members in about 30 organizations. For a campus of about 34,000 students, Greeks make up about 2.35% of the overall population. And while that percentage is on the low end, it doesn’t do justice to really convey the huge positive impact our Greek community has at UT Arlington.
Our Greek community at a glance:
- Each Greek organization is a self-governing business. Students, with the assistance and guidance of Alumni advisors, collect, budget, & allocate $100,000+ each academic year towards a myriad of events and programs.
- Cumulatively, the Greek community raised and donates over $50,000 and over 10,000 service hours to charitable groups every academic year.
- The majority of our Greek members are employed outside of the classroom in order to help finance their education. [time-management skills are paramount with Greeks]
- There are over 200 leadership positions in and within the Greek community alone!
The Latin American Student Organization regularly participates in Hispanic Heritage Month, Homecoming, Oozeball, and Semana de Cultura.
