The Department of History has a number of Dean's Doctoral Assistantships which are offered on a competitive basis to our strongest applicants. The DDA provides a stipend for nine months of study, paying $15,500 per year before students take their Comprehensive Examinations, and $16,650 per year afterward.
Those awarded an Enhanced Graduate Teaching Assistantship perform assigned duties each semester as a teaching assistant and must register for and complete no fewer than nine semester hours per semester in the fall and spring terms. The fellowship provides full tuition coverage for two long semesters of full-time (9 hrs per semester) study. Both awards are renewable each year for the six years provided a student maintains a minimum GPA of 3.00, performs acceptably as a graduate assistant, and makes acceptable progress toward completing the doctoral degree
Transatlantic History Fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis to new Ph.D. students entering the Transatlantic History program. Fellowships of $4000 spread over three years provide substantial assistance to students for their tuition expenses. Recipients must be actively enrolled and remain academically in good standing.
