Today is a day for reverie. It’s a day for some of the best that Maverick Country has to offer. It all starts with spirit-rousing celebrations leading up to the big game. Hang out with friends at The Party on Pecan, spectate the heck out of the parade, and get ready to cheer on the Mavericks at the pre-game pep rally. Homecoming 2012. Bigger, better, and just completely awesome. Join the fun!
The Party on Pecan
Friday, November 16, 4:30 p.m. until parade starts
Pecan Street
Take it to the streets—Pecan Street, that is—Maverick style. The pre-game
Party on Pecan was designed with one thing in mind: Go big or go home. You’ll
play games, enjoy delicious food at complimentary sampling tents, enjoy a
variety of tasty beverages, and check out all the fun activities. Get a tattoo
that won’t horrify your mother at a temporary tattoo booth and groove to tunes
provided by the onsite DJ. If that’s not enough, our brand new College Park
District restaurants will be open and offering great specials so you can taste
a little bit of everything College Park has to offer.
If the crowd starts to wander around 5:30, don’t panic. Everyone is just taking their place along the parade route. Stake out a choice spot so you can see everything marching your way.
Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally
Friday, November 16, 5:30-6:15 p.m.
Pecan Street
This year’s Homecoming Parade starts with a grand production
number not to be missed. After that, the parade procession begins. We’ll have big
floats, marching bands, special guests, and our traditional decorated golf
carts. See if you can spot the cart with the biggest display of Maverick
spirit! (That’s a trick challenge. It’s going to be one long cavalcade of Mav
Mania.) It all winds up with a pep rally in front of College Park Center.
Maverick pride whipped into heart-pounding frenzy. And the best is yet to come! All student, faculty, and staff groups are invited to participate in the parade! First, second, and third place awards of $100, $200, and $300 will be distributed to the winning entries.
Registration for the Homecoming Parade is now closed. If you have already registered, please look out for an email from the Homecoming Committee with further instructions.
