Honors Study Abroad : Greece 2006

Join other UTA students and Professors Karl Petruso and Charlie Chiasson for Study Abroad in Greece, Summer I, 2006.

Experience the pleasure of living and learning in an international setting, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Hilights of the program include:
  • Receive 6 hours in UTA transfer credit.
  • Team-taught by Karl Petruso (Anthropology) and Charlie Chiasson (Classics).
  • Sites to be studied include include: Ancient sites in Athens, Marathon, Knossos, Phaistos, Franchthi Cave (inhabited 20,000 years ago), Mycenae, Olympia and Delphi.

Program Dates: May 16 - 18, 2006 at UT Arlington; May 24 - June 10, 2006 in Greece

Program Cost: Total cost will vary, $500 non-refundable deposit required by March 1st, 2006. Initial deposit of $250 refunded if you are not selected to participate.

Courses: ANTH 4322: Topography and Monuments of Ancient Greece, CLAS 4335: Greek Mythology and Civilization

Orientation Sessions: Two mandatory sessions in late April or early May. Dates will be announced here.

Additional Study Abroad funding: The Office of International Education provides an additional scholarship opportunity throught the International Education Fee Scholarship (IEFS). There is a workshop on March 22, 2006 and the deadline to apply for this scholarship is March 31, 2006.
