Honors Study Abroad : London 2005

Join UTA Professor Martin Danahay for Study Abroad in London, Maymester semester, 2005.

This course is a blend of on-campus classes and 10 days in London, England. The class begins on campus then travels to London on Wednesday May 18th and stays in a hotel in the heart of the city until Sunday May 29th. While in London the class will visit sites related to the reading material, including Soho and Covent Garden, Victoria and Albert Museum, Charles Dickens' House, and Greenwich Observatory.

The class then returns to UTA for the last week of Maymester. The class makes extensive use of online materials as well as novels and classes will be conducted in a University of London computer lab in the city.

The class is open to all UTA students and there are no prerequisites, but preference will be given to Honors students. Students who are members of the Honors College will be subsidized through a private grant. This is a 3 credit-hour class with the standard tuition and fees; in order to be eligible for financial aid you will have to enroll in this class and one other summer course.

The cost of the course will include air fare, hotel and travel passes on the London Underground and bus system. Students will have two weekends (including a long weekend) to explore on their own.
