Purpose:
The University Scholars Graduate Degree Fellowship is available to outstanding Honors College undergraduate students and Honors alumni who are pursuing a masters or doctoral degree at The University of Texas at Arlington. The duration of the award is for one year.
Stipend:
The fellowship award will be made for $1,000 for one year to be disbursed as $500 in the fall semester and $500 in the spring semester. Students are required to be enrolled and complete a minimum of six hours at the graduate level in each of the fall and spring semesters. Those students who register for three hours in their final semester will be awarded prorated per credit hours. Recipients will have their tuition reduced to in-state rates.
Eligibility:
The general guidelines for eligibility for the University Scholars Graduate Degree Fellowship include an undergraduate cumulative GPA of at least 3.2. To receive the award, students must have completed ALL Honors degree requirements and be unconditionally admitted to the graduate program or be currently enrolled in a graduate or doctoral program. (Provisional admittance contingent upon receipt of undergraduate degree is acceptable.) The fellowship is awarded on a competitive basis. The award of the University Scholars Graduate Degree Fellowship does not preclude other financial aid. However, a student will not simultaneously receive the Bridge Fellowship and the University Scholars. Only complete applications (including completed application form, three letters of recommendation, essay, and letter of acceptance to graduate program) will be reviewed.
Renewal:
This fellowship is not renewable.
