Savor the Moment at UTA

Welcome to the place where hungry minds gather. Everyone has to eat, and growing college students are certainly no exception to the rule. UTA understands that University Dining will form the majority of one's diet. So, prepare for a dining experience that is above and beyond what's expected from the flavorful mix of options available to the nutritious content and dietary restrictions accommodated.

friends

This is just the tip of the iceberg! Dining is not just about the food. We want you to savor the moment. Meal touchpoints are the on-campus hubs where one molds their social relations. You never know, one day you may literally bump into to your soulmate at the food line or meet a lifelong friend!

What's On The Menu?

Choose from home-style cooking, burgers, pastas, pizzas, soups, a full salad bar, a vegetarian and vegan station and much more... We offer two all-you-care-to-eat cafés, which include indoor and outdoor seating areas located in the heart of each of our student centers.

There's the Connection Café, located in the E.H. Hereford University Center, and the Maverick Café, located at The Commons—Our newest student center, which opened recently in August 2018. The Commons provides both indoor and outdoor seating areas and additional retail dining options include a Brick-Oven Style Pizzeria and a Specialty Grill. Both our student centers have a Starbucks as well as group meeting rooms and study lounge areas.

Dining at UT Arlington is convenient and valuable by choosing a meal plan best suited for your eating habits and schedule. With four meal plans to choose from, you can enjoy all-you-care-to-eat dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Connection Café—located in the E.H. Hereford University Center—and Maverick Café—located in the Commons at West Campus.

When you eat at the Connection Café or Maverick Café, a meal is subtracted from your meal balance. In addition, each meal plan comes with a certain amount of Dining Dollars that can be used at the Connection Café and Maverick Café, the Plaza food court, Starbucks, The Market, and other on-campus Dining services locations. All traditional meal plans also include $50 College Park Dollars which can be used at any of the dining locations in the College Park District. All students are eligible to sign up for a meal plan. You receive a set number of meals per semester based on the plan you select:

Bronze and Silver meal plan holders may swipe in only once per meal period (breakfast, continental breakfast, lunch, midday meal, and dinner), but you may use Dining Dollars if you would like to treat a friend to a meal in the Connection Café or Maverick Café. Gold and Platinum meal plan holders have an unlimited amount of meals and may swipe in multiple times per meal period.

Dining Dollars are dollar to dollar, much like a debit system, and the balance will roll over from the fall to spring. If you run out of Dining Dollars, you can reload them or add Mav Money, which is also dollar to dollar, either at the Office of Student Accounts, at a campus kiosk, or online through your MyMav account. Our meal plan program is completely separate from the Mav Money system. Please inquire with the Mav Express Office for more information about this program.

Students living in Arlington, Kalpana Chawla, Lipscomb, Vandergriff, and West Halls are required to select a meal plan. For students living in or Trinity hall, meal plans are optional. Residence hall students are not eligible to sign up for the commuter plan.

You can sign up for a meal plan online when you sign your Housing contract. For students living in Trinity hall who may want to purchase a meal plan after the contracting process, you can still sign up by visiting the University Housing office.
