RA Application Process

Applying to be a Resident Assistant is more than just completing an application and attending an interview.  Our application process is designed not only to make sure that we get the best candidates, but to know that this position is a good fit for you.

The following are requirements that are necessary in order to apply for the Resident Assistant position:

  • 2.50 cumulative GPA at the time of application.
  • 2 full semesters living on campus at The University of Texas at Arlington (residence hall, apartment community, or Centennial Court).
  • In good disciplinary and academic conduct standing with The Office for Community Standards and Apartment & Residence Life.
  • Paid current Housing and Meal Plan fees.
  • Ability to return to campus to begin training for your community (Training begins in early August).
  • Completed application: on SNAP Jobs, via Supplemental Application and submission of 2 Reference Forms.

Application Process

The Resident Assistant application process consists of three parts:

  • Complete the SnapJob application by Monday, January 29th, 2018 at 8:00am .  Click here to access the SnapJobs website! (
  • Submit a supplemental application by Monday, January 29th, 2018 at 8:00am (Supplemetal Application Here)
  • Reminder – this asks for 2 references!  An RA reference (ask your current or former RA) & faculty/staff or previous employer. References can access the Reference Form by visiting 

NOTE: All applicants need to complete both the SnapJob application AND the Supplemental application in order to be considered for an interview.  Both the SnapJob application and the Supplemental application is due by 8am on Monday, January 29th, 2018.  

Tips to Apply

  • In order to be considered an applicant, a Snap Jobs application and a Supplemental application must both be completed.
  • Take your time – do not wait until the night before the application is due!
  • It is recommended that you take the Supplemental Application seriously, as the essay answers are reviewed in order for ARL staff to determine which candidates are offered an interview.
  • Have a friend review and revise your answers to the supplemental application!
  • Read each question thoroughly and answer all parts of the question
  • Be on time for your interviews
Lipscomb Hall



Lipscomb Hall has a friendly, laidback community with diverse and down-to-earth students. Residents call Lipscomb their “home away from home.” With 333 residents, you can always find someone to hang out with. The building is divided into two sections: Lipscomb North is co-educational, while Lipscomb South is for women only.
