About the Move-in Event
The Move-in Event is a campus-wide initiative to help residence hall students move into their new homes on opening day. More than 500 faculty, staff and student volunteers are on hand throughout the day to welcome students and parents. More importantly, they actually help new residents move their belongings into their rooms! That means more hands to carry stuff — which saves time and lets new residents focus on getting unpacked and settled in their new home.

What should I expect?
View a typical Move In Event
Move-in day is an exciting day for everyone on campus. The campus community springs back to the normal hustle and bustle as students return. On move-in day, prepare to arrive in the morning when the temperature is cooler. When you arrive, park in the designated lot (see map below) and visit the front desk first before brining anything inside the hall. Once you get your keys and complete your check-in process, a volunteer will help gather volunteers to go to your vehicle and take your personal belongings to your new room. We provide orange stickers to label your property with your new room number in case a volunteer loses track of you. Once your volunteers drop off your belongings to your room, get settled in, meet your roommate/suitemates and neighbors, and begin your college experience with Maverick Stampede Welcome Week Activities!
We have put together a couple great documents to help with the move-in process.
