About the Regents' Outstanding Employee Awards

The Regents' Outstanding Employee Award (ROEA) seeks to recognize thirty UT System employees per year from across our institutions for their outstanding performance, innovation, enthusiasm and dedication in their job. ROEA winners receive a $10,000 award and are honored at a yearly awards luncheon hosted by the UT System Chancellor and Board of Regents.

To be eligible for a ROEA an employee must:

  • Be a full-time, benefits eligible, non-faculty employee
  • Have been employed by UTA for at least 2 years
  • In good standing from their most recent performance evaluation (“meets expectations” or higher)
  • Able to produce three letters of support from key individuals who are aware of and can speak to the employee’s outstanding contributions to UTA

Who Should Nominate

Deans, VP's, Department Heads, Managers and Supervisors

We are asking VP’s, Deans, Department Heads, Managers and Supervisors to consider staff employees in their units for nomination for this statewide recognition.

The nomination process is simple: a standard application form plus three letters of support from key individuals. If you have an individual or individuals in your organization who you believe are deserving of this award, please take the time to see that they are nominated.

Campus Groups and Organizations

The leadership of campus organizations that are for staff, include staff, or can speak to the contributions of staff should consider submitting a ROEA nomination, if your organization knows of a deserving staff employee.

Coworkers and Colleagues

If you know of a coworker or colleague who you think is deserving of a ROEA award, then we would encourage you to voice your support of that individual to your unit head, manager or supervisor.

Self-Nomination

Self-Nominations will be considered by the UTA ROEA committee.

Application Process

Standard Application

A single standard application is used throughout the UT System for ROEA nominations: ROEA Nomination Application [PDF].

Letters of Support

The three Letters of Support are the key artifacts that will be considered by award reviewers. The letters should be written by three different people who can speak to the employee’s contributions in the following areas:

  • Superior performance
  • Outstanding customer service
  • Acts that enhance the image of the institution and/or community outreach.
  • Teamwork

Please use 12pt, Times New Roman font with one inch margins, double spaced, and adhere to all rules of grammar. Each letter of support should not exceed three pages in length. Supplemental articles and pictures may be submitted for consideration but will not be returned. Please do not submit videos, DVDs, or links to online content, as these items will not be considered.

Submitting a Nomination

Please combine your materials (the standard application and the three letters of support) into a single combined PDF.

This will ensure that your materials stay together as a single packet through the nomination and review process.

Please email completed ROEA nomination packets to hrspecialprojects@uta.edu

Deadline

The deadline to complete the ROEA 2017 nomination packets is Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 5pm CST.

Partial or incomplete packets will not be considered.
