PURPOSE: To perform advanced or highly advanced interpreting work utilizing comprehensive or specialized skill with knowledge of interpreter ethics. To provide interpreting for students or employees with hearing impairments in academic or workplace situations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs comprehensive interpreting (voice to sign or sign to voice) for hearing impaired individuals in academic or employment settings. Performs related duties as required.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education
REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High school graduation or GED. Depending on the complexity or difficulty of work to be performed, Texas Commission for the Deaf (TCD) Certification Level III, IV, or V.
