PURPOSE: To provide advanced technical skills in performing and analyzing various clinical laboratory test and procedures. Responsible for independently applying clinical laboratory techniques in the performance of tests procedures and providing data used in diagnosis and treatment of patients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises diagnostic procedures in urology, microscopic analysis, venipunctures, hematology, immunology, mononucleosis, pregnancy and other related tests. Participates and supervises limited chemistry procedures related to bacteriological specimens submitted for culture results and conducts antibiotic sensitivity test. Monitors diagnostic procedures for Gynecology Clinic. Collects blood specimens for reference laboratory reports. Coordinates cytology reports and supplies. Orders all laboratory supplies and reagents. Performs other related duties as required. Keeps records and prepares monthly reports of laboratory procedures. Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents. Quarterly testing for continued state certification for premarital serological examinations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in biology or chemistry or graduation from an approved school of medical technology and M.T. (ASCP) certification.
