PURPOSE: To provide technical skills involving the preparation, issuance, and maintenance of equipment, materials, and supplies used in the College of Nursing's Smart Hospital by students and faculty.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for researching and building relationships with outside vendors and agencies for purposes of lab supplies and task trainer equipment acquisitions. Prepares and maintains a file of standardized ordering specifications. Must accomplish complex and non-routine purchase requirements. Responsible for conducting periodic inventory of lab supplies in order to maintain minimum and maximum par levels. Maintains a detailed list of all equipment in order to identify location as well as safe guarding and security. Generates reports for purposes of tracking usage and providing information for end of year reports. Provides the technical skills necessary to prepare, test, and maintain all task trainers and diagnostic equipment. Responsible for stocking, organizing, and maintaining all simulation labs before and after student and faculty use. Supports/assists in role playing applications, prop placement, and moulage set-up to create a virtual health-care setting. Operates simulation manikin sessions based on priorities identified by the Director of the Smart Hospital. Maintains current knowledge of simulation equipment catalogs and operating manuals. Conducts tours and simulation sessions for internal and external groups and/or individuals.
