PURPOSE: To provide professional nursing skills in the administration of the nursing process. Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating nursing care for patients in an assigned area. Supervises and delegates patient care through auxiliary personnel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains standards of patient care as established by the Health Center Nursing Service and the nursing profession. Participates in professional nursing care of patients as required such as executing Health Center physician's orders for all assigned patients by safely and properly administering medications and treatments. Maintains patient's privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times. Assesses patients understanding of and compliance with instructions and health care teachings. Performs other related duties as required. Relieves the Nursing Supervisor of assigned work tasks as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision from the Supervising Nurse. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: May supervise subordinates.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in nursing and current Texas license.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: One year of experience. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work with standard health care facility equipment. Extremely accurate in following written or oral instructions. Usual health care facility conditions. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
