PURPOSE: To provide advanced professional knowledge, advice and counseling skills regarding the institutional student admission and recruitment process. Recruit prospective international undergraduate students to the university and counsel them on the admissions process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage application process from receipt of application through evaluation and input, including the determination of residency. Maintain and enter admission information into database. Research foreign Colleges and Universities to determine accreditation. Research and solve complex transcripts to determine course equivalents and grade calculations. Provide professional level knowledge, advice and counseling to students and prospective students regarding the International student admissions process. Advise educational administrators, parents and other interested persons regarding admissions requirements, policies and procedures. Review/evaluate requested residency documents that pertain to a student's establishment of domicile in Texas (for tuition assessment purposes). Maintain currency on VISA issues and process I-20 documents for International students. Generate letters of admission and/or rejection to students. Compose correspondence to answer admission and residency inquiries. Serve as liaison to several University departments or administrative areas. Reply to phone calls, correspondence, and e-mail from prospective students and their family members. Travel to high schools, colleges and other learning institutions to publicize and explain the University's admissions, housing and financial aid process to students and parents. Participate in receptions, college fairs and other special programs for prospective students and their parents. Other functions as assigned.
