PURPOSE: To provide professional and supervisory skills and abilities for overall coordination and supervision of student testing programs. Responsible for consulting with members of the faculty and staff concerning testing programs; for planning and providing general supervision of the activities of the psychometric staff; and for consulting with parents and students concerning issues of placement by examination.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Consult with faculty and staff members concerning the establishment and modification of policies and operational procedures of institutional testing programs. Supervises the overall administration of testing programs, including the coordination of staff activities, facilities and materials. Maintains records of student test scores. Makes continual review of procedures used in accordance with established policies and standards. Consults with parents, students and prospective students concerning testing programs. Determines whether progress of Financial Aid students is satisfactory. Establishes standards and policies for the confidentiality of test scores and materials. Provides advice and assistance in the interpretation of test results to students, faculty and staff. Plans and supervises research studies evaluating the effectiveness of testing programs for academic placement, credit and other purposes. Inspects facilities and counsels with test administration personnel to insure that optimum testing conditions are attained. Performs related duties as required. Supervises arrangements for and administration of national testing programs in which the institution participates (GRE, LSAT, MCAT, etc.). Supervises the ordering of materials necessary for regular and special testing programs. Attends staff meetings. Submits statistical summaries and reports as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, with course work in psychometrics.
