PURPOSE: To provide professional skills in the fields of psychology and social work involved in counseling. Responsible for counseling students and other clients in selected personal, educational, vocational and related problems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to the duties and responsibilities described for Counseling Specialist I, Code 3128, a Counseling Specialist II provides advanced skills in counseling and guidance. Assumes complete responsibility for the operation. Designs programs and activities that relate to academic and personal counseling. Provides academic skills assessment and prescribes developmental skill building. Monitors student progress and maintains detailed records. Plans and conducts seminars and workshops. Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology or psychology.
