PURPOSE: To provide for the skillful examination and evaluation of degree plans to determine eligibility for graduation. Responsible for determining the accuracy and adequacy of degree plans by reviewing the required course work for a particular degree as well as the proper number of semester hours.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviews and compares undergraduate students (within the graduate School, Master's degree or Ph. D. degree candidates) completed course credits to approved degree requirements and notifies students of course work which must be completed for graduation. Counsel's students in person, over the phone, and by correspondence concerning their degree plan. Advise students on graduation requirements. Confers with faculty with regard to acceptable course substitutions for a particular degree. Assists in arranging commencement. Answers questions concerning degree procedures. Performs related duties as assigned. Assist in preparation of statistical reports on University graduates. Determines eligibility for scholastic honors.
