PURPOSE: Participates in and supervises student life activities in a residence hall. Responsible for coordinating the work of subordinate Head Residents and Resident Assistants and for aiding students in adjusting to the college environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Selects, supervises, trains and evaluates Resident Assistants. Schedules work assignments. Handles discipline and emergency situations when necessary. Acts as a referral agent for personal and academic problems. Coordinates programming activities. Maintains accurate records on each student including occupancy reports. Advises and trains hall council members. Provides discipline and counseling for hall residents. Attends regular staff meetings with Housing Office. Facilitates or participates in regular workshops for Hall Directors or Resident Assistants and chair committees. Prepares weekly activities schedules. Usually serves as Hall Director in large residence halls. Performs related duties as required. Follows up on illness or emergency matters of residents. Prepares annual report of programming activities and performs evaluations of Resident Assistants.
