PURPOSE: To provide services in the area of immigration employment. Manage immigration employment section within International Student and Scholar Services Division of Office of International Education.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and file immigration petitions and applications to USCIS and Dept of Labor on behalf of international employees. Provide individual advising services to international employees and hiring departments. Liaise with government agencies on their behalf. Update and maintain Payroll's Payment Request Form and HR's Employment Recommendation Letter for international student and non-student employees. Develop and monitor database for caseload management; maintain listserve for international employees; update information for international employees and hiring units on OIE website. Develop and manage internal policies and procedures. Work with university administration to develop university-wide policy on hiring of international faculty and staff. Develop and conduct training programs and materials for department administrators on immigration processes and UTA procedures for international employees. Develop and conduct workshops for international employees and develop and update an international employee handbook. Provide general tax information and facilitate access to Glacier software program. Monitor changes in immigration and DOL legislation and alert international community and hiring units about changes. Attend off-campus professional workshops; take part in other programs and services offered by Office of International Education. Other duties as assigned.
