PURPOSE: To plan and instruct classes in learning skills. Responsible for enrollment, planning, teaching and preparing materials for classes. Evaluates student and group performance. Recommends program improvements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with interviewing, screening and hiring tutors. Develops and conducts tutor training. Monitors product of tutors. Organizes and schedules seminars and study sessions. Purchases and inventories supplies, tests and learning programs. Administers tutor/program evaluations. Maintains tutor files and program records. Oversees monthly and semester reports. Performs related duties as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: Received supervision from Learning Specialist II. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: May supervise clerical staff and student tutors.


REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree with concentration in the field of learning development.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: None. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Projectors, other instructional devices and materials for facilitating learning improvement, as well as personal computer. Proficiency in all phases of work performed. Organizational skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective rapport with students and faculty - sensitive to students' abilities and problems.
