PURPOSE: To provide students with academic advising assistance. Responsible for accurate dissemination of information on academic policy, programs and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Advise students on more difficult matters concerning academic policy, programs and procedures. Refer students to appropriate officials/offices when necessary. Available to answer student questions by correspondence. Compile data and statistics. Maintains student record files. Accomplishes varied clerical tasks. Performs related duties as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision from designated superior. SUPERVISION: N/A REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Two or more years of college.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: One or more years of student advising or related work. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Standard office equipment. Proficiency in all phases of duties performed. Must be able to provide accurate and reliable information to students. Usual office conditions. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
