PURPOSE: Assists in the organization and supervision of persons participating in a variety of recreational and intramural sports programs.Responsible for assisting with the organization and implementation of programs in sports recreation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Organizes, schedules and supervises the daily programming and operations of all recreational facilities for intramural sports programs. Inspects and monitors cleanliness of facility and provides adequate availability of equipment for patron use. Keeps abreast of current safety regulations and assures adherence to safety regulations. Manages the operation of the Outdoor Adventure Center and supervises various student sports clubs. Performs related duties as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: Minimal supervision from the associate director. Determines own work methods or approaches to work problems based upon specialized knowledge or experience. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: Full supervision, which involves assigning, coordinating and reviewing work of others with authority to hire.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Recreation or related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Two years of experience in Recreational Sports or related field. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Ability to operate chalking machine, motor scooters and general office machines. Proficiency in all phases of duties performed. Acceptable for recreational programs, but involves occasional exposure to outdoors and weather elements.Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
