PURPOSE: To assist in the planning and coordination of student programs and activities that create an environment in which the student is offered individual attention. Responsible for understanding and interpreting the needs of students to a staff superior and interpreting institutional rules in specific advisory areas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and coordinate activities related to programs and services designed to meet the needs of students. Report status of these activities to supervisor. Performs related duties as required. Participates in some professional conferences as well as individual professional development.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General instructions and evaluation from supervisor except on individual assignments or problems. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: Instruct secretarial/clerical personnel and student employees.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in field related work.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: None. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of projectors, videotape, lighting and sound as well as printing equipment. Interpreting student life to the faculty and administrators and conversely interpreting institutional rules and regulations to the students. General office conditions with the majority of time spent in contact with students. Attend meetings and conferences concerning students. Interact with student groups at times beyond usual working hours. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
