PURPOSE: To manage, supervise and coordinate the services and activities of the Testing Services program. To provide secondary support for national testing programs, maintain student-testing records and to provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to Assistant Director for Testing Services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in the implementation of goals, objectives and priorities for the Assessment Services function.  Identify and respond to needs, recommend and implement policies and procedures.  Coordinate on and off campus testing administration including scheduling test dates, securing room reservations, ordering testing materials, maintaining testing accuracy and security, coordinating institutional scoring, testing registration and administering testing programs.  Updates and maintains computer lab hardware and computer testing software.  Coordinates with National, State, Distance Education, and local testing entities in order to download, update, troubleshoot and maintain computer-based testing applications.  Responsible for evaluating software applications for system compatibility.  Update and maintain student test records in the UTA Student Information System and on Testing Services information database; distribute test scores and prepare reports of test administration results.  Provide national and institutional testing information to the University community including test sites, dates and times.  Manage and participate in the development and administration of the Testing Services budget; direct the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; direct and implement adjustments as necessary.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: Direction from the Assistant Director for Testing Services. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: General supervision over technical and clerical staff.


REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree with major course work in psychology, business administration, measurement or related field is required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: One year of responsible proctoring of exams and maintaining test security. Experience with Distance Education software such as Blackboard or Canvas. Familiarity with Student Information System. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Standard office equipment. Office environment. May be required to stand and sit for extended periods of time, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50lbs. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
