PURPOSE: To provide entry-level abilities for accurate and skillful examination and evaluation of student academic records to determine admission eligibility and transferable course credits. Responsible for determining an applicant's eligibility and/or transferable credit through examination of transcripts and by conferences, or correspondence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reads and evaluates transcripts from high schools, colleges and universities, by comparing course credits to be transferred to those required by or given at the University. Computes/checks grade point averages. Verifies academic standing. Corresponds with officials of high schools and institutions of higher education concerning course credits and content comparability. Advise students preparing to transfer to other universities concerning those course credits, which will transfer. Compares content of courses at the University and those at other universities. Performs related duties as required. Maintains transcript files, current catalogue files, scholarship and fellowship records. Assists in student registration. Occasional use of CRT and data entry.
