PURPOSE: To provide advanced skills and expertise in the examination of applications to determine eligibility for admission and of course credits, which may be transferred. Responsible for determining an applicant's eligibility and/or transferable credit through examination of transcripts and by conferences or correspondence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reads and evaluates transcripts from previous high schools, colleges and universities, by comparing course credits, which are to be transferred with those required by or offered at the University. Computes and checks grade point averages, verifies class standing, and reviews individual student degree plans to insure completeness and accuracy. Confers with students and their parents concerning eligibility. Corresponds with officials of high schools and institutions of higher education concerning course credit and content comparability. Advise students preparing to transfer to other universities of those course credits, which will transfer. Reviews the work of other evaluators and clerical personnel while completing the more complex evaluating. Compares content of courses offered with those at other universities. Performs related duties as required. Maintains transcript files, current catalogue files, scholarship and fellowship records. Assists in student registration.
