PURPOSE: To provide accurate and skillful examination and processing of veterans benefit applications to determine eligibility for assistance under the Veteran Administration. Responsible for determining the accuracy and eligibility of each application for Hazelwood and Veteran Administration benefits by understanding established guidelines for each program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Answer all inquiries regarding veterans benefits and requirements for certification under various veteran programs. Process and distributes appropriate forms and other related paperwork. Checks application forms for completeness, accuracy and compliance with University and VA policies. Remain informed of current VA and Hazelwood requirements and implement those requirements. Gather data and prepares required reports. Serves as liaison for veteran students and regional VA office. Coordinates with veteran students, academic/administrative departments and the VA office. Implements VA on-line certification. Performs related duties as assigned. Meets with Texas Workforce Commission and Veterans Administration auditors and provides necessary documentation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Two years of college. Bachelor's degree preferred.
