PURPOSE: To provide skilled assistance in connection with the design, construction, maintenance, and repair of scientific, electronic or mechanical equipment. Responsible for organizing, directing and assigning specific projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains repairs and troubleshoots laboratory instruments, personal computers and communication systems. Repairs and calibrates test equipment such as oscilloscopes, frequency counters and digital multimeters. Fabricates electronic/mechanical prototypes and casings. Maintains inventory of necessary parts and repair items. Performs related duties as required. Estimates repair charges and tracks work flow for technical work performed. Assists with budget preparation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High school graduation supplemented by two years of college.
