PURPOSE: To perform responsible research and administer research projects, training programs and the business operation of the research. Responsible for the preliminary planning and scheduling of research projects and assignment of projects to staff members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs preliminary planning or research projects to be undertaken and allocates research assignments. Supervises, checks and advises the staff on progress research work assigned, from commencement through distribution of published results. Supervises organization research facilities. Supervises and administers pre-service and in-service training program conducted by the organization. Supervises the inquiry and consulting services provided by the organization from interest groups on and off campus. May be responsible for certain administrative functions. Performs related duties as required. May assist in the selection of personnel for an entire area, interviewing applicants, making recommendations, employing part-time employees. Prepares answers to inquiries from citizens, public officials and private organizations covering diverse subjects within the field of specialization.
