PURPOSE: To provide supervisory and technical assistance necessary in planning, organizing, and directing the care and maintenance of grounds and facilities. Responsible for assisting in the planning and directing of grounds maintenance activities and for coordinating and supervising various personnel in the care and up-keep of the general landscape.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor in planning and supervising of landscaping and grounds maintenance activities. Helps supervise planting, cultivating, watering, fertilizing, mowing of lawns, and cultivating, pruning, spraying, and transplanting of trees and shrubs. Supervises the removal of leaves, grass, dirt, and rubbish from grounds. Supervises the use, maintenance, and repairs of tractors, cultivators, edgers, mowing equipment, and other tools and machinery. Requisitions and' distributes materials and equipment. Assists with the maintenance of records. Performs related duties as required. Assists in the preparation of sketches for development, improvement, or expansion of landscaped areas.
