PURPOSE: To provide advanced technical and drafting skills in a field where both manual and computer-aided drafting and/or design (CADD) are performed. Responsible for compiling and organizing engineering and drafting data into usable form, supervising and training subordinates and establishing CADD criteria, procedures and standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Typical functions of the job include, but are not limited to: Prepares and supervises the preparation of various types of drawings using CADD equipment or manual tools. Coordinates drafting work of the section. Assigns work to subordinates. Checks finished work for quality and accuracy. Prepares computation and field notes. Prepares preliminary and final plans from field notes, design data and instructions. Recommends changes in design. Maintains the quality, accuracy and security of the computer based graphical data. Performs other duties as required.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education
REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High school graduation or GED, supplemented by courses in computer-aided drafting, mechanical drafting and/or basic engineering mathematics. Completion of college-level coursework in engineering, architecture, computer-aided drafting, computer science or related fields.
