PURPOSE: To provide journeyman level installation, maintenance and service of electrical systems. Responsible for the prompt performance of assigned electrical and related duties. Frequently responsible for the supervision of semiskilled workers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Installs new electrical services to buildings and extends old services. Installs, maintains and repairs electric motors, transformers, generators, control panels, switches, circuit breakers, outlets, fixtures, fittings and accessories. Installs conduit or tubing. Installs, maintains and repairs bell and buzzer systems, clock circuits, magnetic starters, light fixtures, flood and streetlights. Replaces light bulbs. Rebuilds electric motors. Splices wires and high voltage cables. Tests circuits. Performs related duties as assigned.
