PURPOSE: To provide supervisory skills to plan, organize, and direct grounds care and maintenance. Responsible for the maintenance and general beautification of all grounds including floral gardens, landscaped areas and rough areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans, schedules, assigns, and supervises landscaping, seeding, weeding, cultivating, pruning, spraying, and transplanting of a large variety of shrubs and trees. Supervises the removal of leaves, grass, dirt, and rubbish from grounds. Requisitions and distributes materials and equipment for grounds maintenance work. Plans and supervises operation of a greenhouse. Interviews and hires suitable applicants for employment. Maintains employee time and attendance records. Performs related duties as required. Prepares sketches for development, improvement, or expansion of landscaped areas. Coordinates work with proposed building and construction plans. Prepares reports of work performed.
