PURPOSE: To develop, implement and administer an automated preventive maintenance program. Responsible for data collection, establishing routine inspection and maintenance procedures and instructions and database maintenance of an automated preventive maintenance program for HVAC system and equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Record manufacturer's data from new and existing equipment; prepare detailed maintenance/inspection task listing for HVAC equipment such as air handlers, pumps, air compressors, fans, centrifugal water chillers and other items of equipment in the HVAC systems; develop specific maintenance/inspection instructions based on manufacturer's recommendations and good maintenance practice; establish scheduled intervals for maintenance/inspection tasks; input to and maintenance of automated preventive maintenance software database; develop automatic reports which reflect the status of preventive maintenance work orders. Perform related duties as required or assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High school graduate or 3 years experience.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Seven years experience in building, roof, or HVAC system installation, maintenance and/or repair. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of maintenance/inspection requirements for building, roof, or HVAC system components. Required in all phases of work. General office conditions. May be required to work in mechanical equipment rooms or utility tunnels having elevated ambient temperatures and rotating equipment. Alertness and careful attention is required to avoid injury to self and to others. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
