PURPOSE: To direct the painting and decorating of the interior and exterior of buildings, equipment, machinery and furniture. Responsible for planning and supervising painters and for maintaining records of the department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans, coordinates and supervises painters and helpers, assigning them to specific jobs, instructing them in the work to be performed and inspecting work, both in process and at completion, for quality and compliance with the work orders. Makes inspections of the various facilities at the University to determine the need for painting, caulking, or plastering and reports his findings and recommendations. Makes cost estimates of jobs in terms of time and materials. Performs related duties as required.
