PURPOSE: To assist in the supervision of custodial maintenance and participate in the building cleaning operation and related work. Responsible for the direct supervision of, and participation in, work performed by a group of Building Attendants.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in scheduling and coordinating the work of a group or groups of Building Attendants. Assists in advising them of special assignments or changes in work routine. Inspects completed work of Building Attendants. Receives and handles complaints from occupants of buildings. Reports need for building repairs. Assist in requisitioning supplies and maintaining supply records. Performs routine or special cleaning and custodial functions as needed or required. Maintains good working relationships with subordinates, other University employees, and students. Assures energy conservation by ensuring all non-necessary lights are turned off (classrooms, offices, etc.). Makes an identification of all problems requiring a work order for correction, such as (light bulb replacement, lock adjustment, carpet repair, broken glass, holes in walls, ceiling tile replacement, tripping hazards, termites, etc). The Custodians should be identifying obvious facility deficiencies that are observed during Performs related duties as required.
