PURPOSE: To provide management and supervisory skills involving the rental and administration of University owned apartments and houses. Responsible for tenant selection, scheduling property for rental and other administration responsibilities for these properties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Administers selection of tenants, interpreting regulations and deciding on questionable cases. Supervises system of occupancy records, payments of rent and deposits. Maintains furniture, supplies and equipment inventories. Recommends policies, rules, and regulations. Initiates any necessary tenant disciplines or eviction. Interviews applicants and tenants concerning complaints. Collects delinquent rent. Interviews and selects apartment managers. Inspects properties to determine need for repair and maintenance work. Plans programs of improvements for buildings and grounds. Inspects property scheduled for rent. Processes the appropriate paperwork for vacating tenants. Assembles accurate records pertaining to vacating tenants. Establishes and maintains staff training procedure. Implements marketing strategies for property. Updates brochures and forms. Performs related duties as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision from the Director of Housing and University Center. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: Supervises assigned personnel.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelors Degree.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: One-year experience in the management of rental properties. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of standard office equipment and personal computer. Proficiency in all phases of work. Standard office condition. Makes rounds of properties. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
