PURPOSE: To provide the administrative and technical skills necessary to supervise the activities of a large inventory section. Responsible for maintaining records concerning all permanent movable equipment in University buildings and facilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Checks vouchers to determine if item should be classified as permanent movable equipment; records the receipt of permanent movable equipment; supervises the assignment and the attachment of an inventory number; supplies information for compilation of inventory reports; assists department officials in verifying inventory reports. Performs related duties as required. Prepares monthly, annual and/or terminal inventory reports. Prepares bid forms for the sale of surplus property. Conducts sight inventories of equipment as required by applicable directives.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision by review of accuracy of inventory reports and records. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: General supervision of all personnel employed in the section.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High School graduation.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Four years of experience in inventory methods and accounting procedures or related outside experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of data processing equipment capabilities. Use of typewriter and calculators. Extremely accurate in the maintenance of records. Usual office conditions, and occasionally involve exposure to outside weather conditions. Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification may render the position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
