PURPOSE: To perform routine clerical and manual duties relating to the receipt, storage, and issuance of equipment, supplies, and materials. Responsible for receiving and checking incoming supplies and equipment for the preparation of outgoing shipments, and for the proper storage and issuance of stock items.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs a combination but not necessarily all of the following duties: (1) Receives, inspects cartons, boxes and containers and checks items received against items ordered, noting over shipments, shortages, damage, or other deviations and notifying departments of such discrepancies. (2) Delivers equipment, materials, and supplies received to using departments. (3) Unpacks, marks and shelves merchandise in proper storage area. (4) Issues equipment, supplies, and materials upon receipt of proper requisitions. (5) Drives lightweight trucks to deliver and pick up merchandise at off-campus locations, loading and unloading the trucks as needed. (6) Maintain store material handling equipment. Performs related dudes as required. Assists in taking physical inventories in a warehouse stock room, or other location. Make minor repairs on equipment.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: Review of the accuracy of reports and effectiveness of the warehouse or store. General instructions as to changes in procedures or special assignments. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: Occasionally may give specific instructions to new employees and/or student workers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High school graduation or equivalent.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: None. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: May be required to use typewriter and adding machine. May need to possess ability to drive light and medium size trucks, to operate forklift and other types of material handling equipment and to perform physical labor in moving stocks. Employing department may require a valid Texas Driver's License and ability to qualify for a Texas Commercial License. Extreme accuracy required in the maintenance of inventory, shipping and receiving records. Working conditions are considered acceptable, but occasionally involve exposure to weather and physical hazards. Alertness and careful attention is required to avoid injury to self and to others. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
