PURPOSE: To provide the skills to prepare, select, classify, and evaluate audio-visual teaching materials. Responsible for promoting, arranging, and conducting training programs and for assisting in the design and preparation of audio-visual teaching materials.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans, organizes, conducts, and participates in meetings concerning the application and utilization of audio-visual methods, materials, and devices. Advises and assists in the selection, production, and supplying of audio-visual materials. Produces or directs the production of audio-visual materials. Develops photographic materials for classroom instructors and for recruiting activities. Controls distribution of media materials. Performs related duties as required. Selects and purchases equipment and supplies.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision by supervisor through periodic reports and acceptance of teaching material by its users. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: Specific and general instructions to other personnel assisting with the work.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Completion of two years of college, including courses in audio-visual education.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: One year of experience in the use of audio-visual equipment. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Use of film projectors, opaque projectors, and other special audio-visual equipment. May be required to have basic knowledge of TV equipment and production. Proficiency in all phases of work performed. Working conditions are considered acceptable, but involves standing and some exposure to hazards of electrical equipment. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 5 1.2 15 Texas Education Code.
