PURPOSE: To perform highly skilled work in the bindery unit and to skillfully operate various types of machines. Responsible for production and completion of work orders on schedule, and for the participation and supervision in the workload.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform duties as described in the Bindery Equipment Operator I job description. In addition, operates bindery and finishing equipment such as the folder and paper cutter. Performs other related duties as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision from assistant print shop supervisor. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: May occasionally supervise several student employees.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High School graduation.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: One year of experience in the operation and maintenance of bindery equipment and other finishing operations. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Ability to use paper cutter, folder, wire stitcher with trimmer and other related bindery equipment. Proficiency in all phases of work. Working conditions are considered acceptable, but involves prolonged standing, lifting, carrying and exposure to hazards of mechanical equipment, fumes, odors, dust and noise. Alertness and careful attention is required to avoid injury to self and others. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
