PURPOSE: To evaluate, write and edit manuscript and/or to perform editorial work in connection with all phases of the preparation and issuance of literature, technical reports, and articles. Responsible for editing and writing manuscripts and/or lay and technical reports and articles for style, content, correctness of grammar, and organization of material and to present this material in an informative and readable manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reads, edits, rewrites, and corrects faulty organization, grammar, structure, style of manuscripts and/or specialized technical reports and articles. Participates in the preparation of these materials. Evaluates manuscripts in terms of their general worth and suitability for publishing. Schedules the work of drafting, photographic and duplicating sections with respect to technical report preparation. Writes or edits jacket and other promotional copy on books handled. Corresponds with other organizations to request or furnish technical publications and confers with authors concerning editorial matters. Coordinates newsroom with photography and production. Performs related duties as required.
