PURPOSE: To perform highly skilled educational work which requires a knowledge of curriculum development and current educational requirements of the Texas Education Code. Other related assigned responsibilities of the department. Responsible for planning and implementing curriculum projects and products and assisting in all duties of the department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain and update the online instructional materials for delivery to secondary and undergraduate learners. Assists in operation of testing and grading database. Coordinates and schedules class maintenance and updating work with Center multimedia producers. Prepares and conducts orientation and informational sessions. Provides basic support to students enrolled in online classes via telephone and E-mail. Assists in all phases of operation at the Center for Distance Education. Performs related duties as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: Limited direction from the Director and Assistant Director of Distance Education. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: None.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Master's degree in the Humanities, Sciences or Education with strong experience in curriculum development.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Three years combined teaching experience at both the college and K-12 level. Minimum one-year experience in formal position with instructional design focus. Demonstrated ability to work interactively with faculty and with technical specialists. Basic knowledge of Macintosh computers and the World-Wide Web required. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Skill in the use of Macintosh computers and World-Wide Web, televisions, VCR and standard office equipment. Required in all phases of the duties performed. Good. Will occasionally require some weekend or evening work. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
