PURPOSE: Provides journalistic skill in the planning, executing and composition of publications, presentations, programs, news releases and various public affairs documents to an internal audience. Responsible for writing and editing of internal publications. Serve as a liaison between other departments and campus entities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops, writes and edits documents, websites, flyers and information booklets. Arranges format and content of internal publications using various media devices. Checks all material for accuracy and appropriateness of presentation. Develops and coordinates special informational projects and events that enhance the campus community's awareness of different departments' activities, news and events. Performs other duties as required. Assists with long-range planning and goal setting. Will be expected to interact with on and off campus media in a professional manner. Diplomacy, discretion and tact are required in all matters. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills. Independent decision making and problem solving ability will be expected in areas such as editing, arranging format and content and writing.
