PURPOSE: To assist in the planning, implementing and logistical support for all university function, special events/ programs conducted on behalf of the president and Vice President for University Relations. Responsible for developing and maintaining a working relationship with faculty, staff and leaders of outside groups in planning and scheduling all events/programs for the administration. Supervise all support activities. Make arrangements for housing and food services with University and private sources on and off campus sites.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Meets with University faculty, staff, and group sponsors to assist in planning and scheduling events. Coordinates special events on and off campus and within community. Plan special events functions from inception to completion. Coordinate functions hosted at the presidents home i.e.; receptions, dinners. Develop and maintain a computer information database of associates, activities, cost and schedules. Maintain frequent interaction between the President's Office and the Office of University Relations. Keep the University News Service abreast of current publicity surrounding special events. Maintain budget expenditures and records for each function/ event in conjunction with the President's Office. Performs related duties as required. Recommends new procedures and policies for improvement of support activities. Prepare reports as assigned.
