PURPOSE: To plan, coordinate, and supervise graphic design production for a wide variety of projects such as catalogs, books, booklets, brochures, flyers, posters, pamphlets, forms and public service advertising. Responsible for all phases of graphic design production, including layout, illustration. calligraphy, typography, printing, photography, binding, engraving, and illustration, and for ensuring that production deadlines are met.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Consults, coordinates, plans and schedules all activities involved in the operation of the print graphics department. Supervises the work of clerical staff in accomplishing varied graphics and typesetting tasks. Advises requesting departments as to print design, layout and illustration on each particular job order. Coordinates the interfacing of personal computer on campus with the automated typesetting system. Keeps abreast of new developments in the field of graphic design and typesetting. Implements new methods to enhance production of the department. Performs other related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in commercial art, design, advertising, or equivalent art school training.
