PURPOSE: To manage one or more technical services areas in a full service multi-purpose public assembly facility. Responsible for participating with other managers in identifying, specifying, planning and supervising event set-up and clean up, general housekeeping, utility delivery, equipment and facility maintenance, sound reinforcement, and/or stage craft services required to operate varied professional entertainment events and private facility uses in a full service multi-purpose public assembly facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyzes facility operations and identifies needs for technical services. In cooperation with other managers, professional entertainment event producers, and private facility use sponsors, specifies and plans projects for delivery of general housekeeping, utility distribution, equipment maintenance, facility maintenance, professional entertainment events, and/or private facility use technical services. Assigns and supervises tasks directly and through intermediate supervisors. Reviews and coordinates work in process. Establishes and maintains preventive and corrective maintenance programs. Initiates acquisitions of goods and services. Designs, approves and submits records and reports. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with performers' representatives, representatives of private facility users, representatives of other outside agencies, coworkers, subordinates, and other University personnel. Performs related duties as required. Interviews, hires, and trains personnel in varied regular classified positions. Establishes candidate pools, interviews, hires and trains personnel in extra help housekeeping, stagecraft, and/or other positions. Occasionally assists in performing technical services tasks. May assume responsibilities of other managers, including Assistant/Associate Director.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision from Director, Associate Director, Assistant Director and/or other managers. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: General and specific supervision to skilled and semi-skilled technical services personnel directly and through intermediate supervisors.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High school graduation or GED.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Two years of supervisory experience in a multi-purpose public assembly facility or in stagecraft, maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems, custodial services in a public use facility, project management, or other relevant field. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Processes and equipment utilized in the position's specific areas of responsibility, including automated systems. Long and varied hours. Work performed on multiple projects concurrently, under pressure of rigid deadlines and time limitations, at night, on weekends, and on holidays. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
